Disney Day 3 - Animal Kingdom

The next day in our trip, we visited Animal Kingdom which turned out to be one of my favorites.  It was a little crowded but again we never waited very long and took advantage of our fast passes.

We rode a train over to Rafiki's area which was a neat train ride as you face out the side!

 Meeting Rafiki

Getting to brush the pigs, goats, and sheep

After our adventures there, we headed back to the African village part to take our Safari Ride. This was one of my favorite things of the entire trip.  And both the kids loved it too as you are in this big jeep that bounces around a lot!  We saw so many animals and even some up close. We saw...
 Rhinos

 Hippos

 Crocodiles

Elephants

This was the African savanna that we drove through which was so neat.

 Evan on the tour

We drove right next to this giraffe.

We saw ostrich eggs (and mama ostrich is just in the background).

After our safari, we went to have lunch at Tusker House.
Picture with Donald Duck before lunch

 It's Mickey Mouse!!

Kids got to meet Daisy Duck for the first time.

Evan on the parade. Each child got to grab and play an instrument as they walked around the restaurant. Evan loved it!  Caitlin didn't participate the first time around, but we were there long enough that they did it again and that time, she joined in.

 Goofy and the kids

 Daisy Duck came by again.

And Mickey came by a second time as well. Daddy got to take a picture with him too!

After lunch, we went to explore more of the park.  We headed to Mt. Everest (see in the background).

And also to dino world where Evan got to do a fun ride. I think we rode it like 3 times since it was one of the few he could do there. I don't have a picture but after this we went and did a water ride that actually got us quite wet.  Evan was just tall enough and he LOVED it. I mean, this had to have been his favorite ride so far on the trip.  He couldn't stop talking about it.  We had to wait about 25 minutes in line but he did wonderfully and then to watch him enjoy the ride so much was priceless.

After that we were lucky enough to snag a great spot for the parade. Of all the parades we saw in Disney, this was my 2nd favorite.  They had such interesting characters and the kids were right in front so they got some great attention from everyone as they walked by.

 Lion King show

We did a few more things before snapping some pictures and heading home (since Animal Kingdom closes early).

Above is when we began to notice that Caitlin was not feeling well and starting to get a fever.  More on that on the next day of the Disney recap!
