Northwest Trip Part 3

The last part of our trip was spent in Seattle with our friends Matt and Danae.  We met up with them Sunday morning at a local Farmers Market. We sampled some delicious fruits and crepes and bought some food for dinner.

Then we headed over to the Ballard Locks and fish ladders.  This was super neat.  First we checked out the locks.  We saw boats going in both directions.  Evan loved seeing the boats.

After we saw the locks, we walked over to the fish ladders.  This was really interesting for all of us. Evan enjoyed seeing the fish and I enjoyed learning about the salmon and their journey.

Those pipes are for when the fish come back to the sea so they don't die in the locks

From there, we went home to attempt a nap for the kids but Evan wasn't up for it.  Instead, we decided to hop in the cars and drive a little ways outside the city to see a beautiful waterfall!  We figured Evan could at least get a little nap in on the car rides which he did.

After we saw the falls, all Evan wanted to do was pull the stroller.  He pulled it up this big hill and all around the  parking lot.  He just screamed it we tried to take it away. 

As you can see, he enjoyed it!

After the falls, we headed back for a delicious dinner of fresh fish and veggies from the market - who knew Matt was such a gourmet cook?  We then got ready for bed since we had a really early flight the next day.  Thanks Matt and Danae for showing us Seattle and letting us stay in your beautiful home!  We will definitely be visiting again - gotta go to those 3 National Parks near you!
