Evan Turns TWO!

Two years ago, a sweet little baby boy joined our family and turned our whole lives upside down.  We didn't have a clue what to do with a baby but we were ready for the challenges.  One look at him when he was born and we couldn't help but cry at how happy we were to have this healthy, beautiful baby boy.  And two years later, we feel the same way.  We still don't know what we're doing, but we try our best!  Happy Birthday Evan Richard Stacer!  We love you more everyday if that's possible and these two years have been the best.  You continue to amaze us each day and we are so lucky to have you in our lives.

It seems like Evan learns something new everyday so I can't really detail everything like I did at 18 months.  Instead, I'll just do some broad recaps of how he's doing at 2 years old.  First off, his language is just exploding. He's saying something new all the time and speaks in sentences.  There are still times I can't quite understand what he's referring to, but he communicates pretty well.  That has cut down a lot on the frustration tantrums.  He's generally a happy, easy going boy.  He loves to run around and JUMP!  He jumps on/off everything - curbs, coffee tables, couches, steps.  He also loves to go to the pool, especially the splash pad.  He likes to take showers and help with mowing the lawn.  His new favorite toys are cars of any kind.  He also really likes the movies Finding Nemo and Cars (hence the Nemo themed birthday party).  He loves animals, especially neigh-neighs (horses).  We are working on colors but right now everything is blue if you ask him.  He has started repeating words/phrases and actions which is cute but means we have to be careful.  He likes to color and read books.  He loves to point out airplanes and give high-fives.  He also loves to say bye-bye... to people,  objects, anything really.  His favorite foods are fruits - particularly berries of any kind and oranges.  He'll be starting preschool this fall so I'm excited for him to get to be around other kids more often.  Sometimes he shares with others, but he has definitely learned the word MINE and uses it.  It's easy to focus on all the good things, but he still throws temper trantrums, hits in frustration, and throws things.  I guess that's all that comes to mind at the moment.

We headed to the Dr. Wednesday for his 2 year well check.  Here are the stats:
Weight: 27 lbs - 45%
Height: 35in - 70%
Head: 18.5cm - 45%

We had a big birthday party for him on Saturday.  The theme was Nemo since that is one of his favorite movies and characters.  He had a blast!  Thanks to everyone who joined us.  He loved having all his friends over to play.  They splashed in the pool and ran around in the sprinker.  He was so upset when he had to come in from the pool.  I hope everyone had as much fun as we did.  Plus, Oma, Uncle Will, and Mema all flew in for the big event which was awesome.  He loved having them here to celebrate.  Here are some pictures from the party.
