Mother's Day

I am probably not like a lot of Mothers. I didn't want to go to brunch or a spa and just relax. While those things sound great, I wanted to do something fun together as a family.... something I'd had on my to-do list.  Because I like adventures!!  So, I told Bryce what I wanted to do was take the kids to Enchanted Rock State Park. It's a pretty cool place in Central Texas but it's also quite popular. Which means we had to get up, on the road, and to the park early before the crowds (and the heat!).

Ready to hike up to the top of the Enchanted Rock!

These two were all up for it and had no problems!

This little guy made it most of the way

The cool part is at the top, we found this guide who was doing a little tour. So, we hopped into the group. He took us to these caves I had never seen before which was a lot of fun!

After that, we took in the scenery before deciding to do one more big hike around the rock.

It was quite a long hike around and we did get some, "How much further" towards the end. It was VERY hot that day too. So, by the time we were done, we headed to Fredericksburg for lunch and ICE CREAM!!

It was a great way to spend Mother's Day for me. Doing something adventurous as a family!

May 2017

Still playing catch up on the blog. But at least I'm almost to Summer before it turns to Fall here!

May is always a super busy month because the end of school brings lots of activities - parties, field trips, and summer swim beginning! This May was no different.

Caitlin had a field trip to Crowe's Nest Farm. It was a beautiful day outside. I enjoyed getting to accompany her class.

Caitlin also got to present her Spring ISP project for TAG. She chose to do it on Roller Skating! When Caitlin does a project, she goes all out for it. Here she is all dressed up for her presentation - roller skates and all!

The beginning of May is also when Evan has a soccer tournament. We love getting to watch him play so much. He had some great games. In the end, the boys ended up getting 2nd in their bracket - but it was a very tough bracket. They lost to a team that was a year older than them!

As busy as we were, we tried to take some time to just enjoy life... like running in the rain beneath a rainbow!

And celebrating Mema's birthday!

And doing a Painting with a Twist class for Mother's Day!

Boy Scout picnic where these boys became Webelos! What a great group of boys and some pretty good leaders too :)

We had end of year awards at school:

Caitlin with her teacher Ms. Johnson!

Evan and his teacher Ms. Moeller

We said goodbye to two teachers whom the kids had that retired :(

We started a new summer swim team - the Dolphins! Evan was excited to be with a lot of friends from school and Lonestar.

We started doing some family bike rides with Ryan's birthday present!! So fun that we can all ride together now.

And a few more activities that I will save for their own posts. So stay tuned!!

Second half April 2017

The second half of April was actual Easter, soccer, more soccer, and a few other things.

Evan during one of his games. Love to watch him play!

The boys back together again - ever since Jackson moved, they have missed playing together every day!

Doing our little block flashlight egg hunt

For actual Easter church service, we went to Oma's church. They have a fun Easter egg hunt for kids, brunch, it starts later, and is a lot easier to park!

Ryan did great in the 4 year old group. Lots of candy and eggs.

My two older ones are ready to go hunting!

Picture of all 3 dressed up for Easter.

Evan and Caitlin also participate in the Marathon Kids program at school. Every Friday, they would go and run laps before school started during the school year. Eventually, they ran a full marathon!  They do a celebration at the end of the year for those who completed it.

Ms. Hicks (their PE teacher) asked them to be part of a special group of kids that ran around first!

Caitlin also had a lot of fun playing soccer this Spring with her Coach :)

Team Picture! Last year of scocer for Caitlin - she is too busy in the Fall to continue but enjoyed it while she got the chance to play!

Last fun activity was a sleepover with Cousin Chelsea!!
